Scott came to visit me! He arrived in Portland on Friday. Saturday we were busy having a perfectly wonderful day! It so happens that Sunday-Monday will be rain filled. While the sun was shining we went to the farmers market, Saturday market, and went on an epicurean walking tour.
Scott and I started out our tour with a melon and jalapeno juice gazpacho. It had a shrimp on top of fresh tomato and avocado. The flavors were distinct and wonderful.

We went to Chez Joly a french resturant. We had french onion soup which Scott said was amazing. I was not brave enough to even try it. I dislike onions with fervor and passion.
We were also given a bruschetta with brie, candied walnuts, honey, grape, and chives. It was delicious.

Choy Joly also served us ham and cheese crepes. Mmmm

Scott does not care for cheese too much and he was brave and tried the bruschetta with brie cheese. He is so brave.

We then had Hot Lips Pizza. The seasonal vegetarian was tomato and garlic.

Yes that is a whole clove of roasted garlic.

This is a bathroom. On the corner of the street near a public park with spash pad.

The design is open at the top and bottom so police can see feet and know whats going on in the bathroom. I think I would hold it instead of using it. ha ha

We had summer berry ice cream (blueberry, marion berry, and black berry) and a scoop of chocolate sorbet from Blue Moon ice cream. YUM.

The other places we tried was a vinegar and oil store. We got to taste all kinds of Balsamic vinegars--blueberry was my favorite. There are many infused olive oils. they were so good. It was odd tossing back small amounts of oil or vinegar out of sacrament cups.
The Salt and Tea Exchange was full of spices sold by the teaspoon. So if you need a tsp of some obscure spice this is the perfect place. the store prides itself in fresh spices. It also has many salt infused flavors. It was so good to taste different salts. For example the Bonfire salt is a smokey salt and tastes stronger than liquid smoke. The rosemary infused salt was quite tasty. I wish I was a better chef.
We also had a pork turenne at Park Kitchen. This restaurant was the best at living the FLOSS philosophy that Portland is striving for.

It was a fabulous tour and I loved our guide Herb!

This is a plate of sushi Scott and I had for dinner after eating all day on the tour. I feel like I ate all day! I guess I did.
