This is how I start most appointments. It is amazing how much you can learn about someone in just 7 minutes-the average time it takes me from patient sitting in chair to me leaning them back. I love the randomness of my patients. This week was an especially good week of colorful patients. I would like to share a brief statement about them. . .
1. head biologist for Tillamook Creamery-gets all the free ice cream and cheese she can handle-drives clear back to Portland just so I can clean her teeth. She said I am like her hair dresser-someone that cant be given up.
2. Architect who designs dental assisting schools and hygiene schools-sadly she is really busy since schools are popping up everywhere.

4. Employee of ADEC. He gives me a hard time for out Pelton and Crane chairs. Adec has a showroom in Newberg (just south of Portland) and #2 and #3 were there last week with #4---small world!!!!
5. Hazel nut farmer who son was killed in Iraq and daughter who was killed in line of duty (cop).
6. Mom of a seriously cute boy. He will be 1 very soon. He is 100% swedish and his blue blue blue eyes are so adorable as is his healthy cheeks and stocky body. He looks like the perfect healthy baby boy. Truly a cute baby. His name is Felix I hope that is not a HIPPA violation- But how cute!
Those were my favs. I had a busy week. I was double booked for some of the time. My front office is really good at keeping my booked. She schedules me heavy and then usually with cancellations etc the days are just right. But occasionally they are a little crazy when no one cancels. Friday was such a day. I was double booked in the morning. Dr had zero patients until 2 pm. Due to that the dental assistant decided not to come into work until 2. I was alone to do double hygiene. It was hard. Dr M ended up cleaning up my room and setting it up again-he actually did a good job-almost everything down to how I like the floss under a 2x2 to keep it from getting tangled in the instruments!!! How many drs would do that? I dont know. He is completely amazing.
On my worst patient list we learned this week that one of our patients was arrested for dealing child porn. EWWWW I hope he is too embarrassed to ever come back because how do I work that closely on someone like that? I mean really? I can handle hepatitis, years of neglect, bad breath, soft debris, smokers, pot heads and non brushers. I dont know if I can handle pervs. But then again probably all are pervs and I dont know it. Hmmm.
I better just focus on the good. It has been hard to. I hate giving up, loosing hope, failing with faith, and not getting what I want. I need to be happy with what I have-which is sadly a broken tv, dumb couch, and that is about it ha ha ha ha. I am blessed. I live in the perfect location. I have the best boss!!! I am a good woman! Summer is coming and so is my sister Lori! It will be a good summer! I look forward to it!

Yay for sisters!!!!!! They are amazing people. You are a wonderful woman, so proud you let me be your friend. What is the deal with your couch? I envy you living in Portland! I would live there in a heartbeat. The perfect place in my mind. I pray for you. I know good things will come your way.
I don't see what you have to lose hope for...like you said, your life is great! You seem very blessed. I would have given anything for a great dental office to work in like you do.
It sounds like things are going well with the boyfriend! I'm really starting to second-guess ever dating again, because I feel like since I'm not a Molly Mormon, that no guy in Utah will ever want me. I'm assuming Pharm Boy is a Peter Priesthood, so I've basically talked myself out of asking him out.
I love it when you've been in an office long enough to really know your patients!! That's crazy about the child porn guy...how embarrassing for him. i hope you don't ever have to see him again :/
and...i LOVE your boss! what dentist would really clean up and set up (paying attention to details on the tray, even)?!?! That's so awesome. I'm gonna tell brett he better do that! haha!
